05 Jul 4 Things You Should Consider Before Buying a Mayne Planter
At Mayne we design and manufacture a large variety of planters that differ in size, color, shape, and functionality. We understand that choosing the right planter for your space can seem a bit overwhelming, and so keeping that in mind, here are 4 vital factors that you should consider before making your next planter purchase.
All About That Drain:
As a plant parent you are well aware by now that more house plants die from overwatering than underwatering – making a proper drainage system for your planter an absolute necessity. A large number of our collections like the Fairfield and the Nantucket come with a pre-drilled drainage hole that helps with the easy drainage of excess moisture.
Since we cater to both indoor and outdoor container garden markets, we do sell some planters like the Augusta that do not come with a pre-drilled drainage hole. The absence of a drainage hole makes it easier to use these planters indoors, as they will not expel any surplus water.
The Right Size for You:
When it comes to planters, size is an important deciding factor. A container that is too small does not give your plant the room that it needs to grow, and a container that’s too big for your plant can inhibit moisture retention.
Providing the right sized planter for your space whether it’s for a commercial storefront or a small condo has always been a driving force for us here at Mayne. A great example of this would be our tulip-shaped Valencia collection that is available as a 16” planter, a trough, a tall planter and a window box. Our wide range of planters are reflective of our belief that everyone deserves great timeless design, irrespective of the nature of the space they are working with.
Keeping the Bigger Picture In Mind:
We’re passionate about designing products that meet your unique style needs, but most of all, we love seeing those products come to life in your homes. Whether you want to buy one big planter to create a focal point in your garden or want to purchase multiple pieces of a single collection to create a cohesive space – having a clear idea of what you want to achieve with your design can help simplify the planter-buying process. Other questions that you might want to ask your self at this stage would include – What style am I going for here? What kind of textures and colours do I want to introduce into my space?
We love receiving your entries for our Annual Photo Contest, and the below entry is a great example of how customers have taken our products and created absolute design magic.
Material is Key:
At Mayne, all our products are created from 100% high-quality polyethylene resin. Unlike clay planters that break easily, our polyethylene planters are shock resistant and come with a 15-year residential warranty. In addition to this, they are lightweight and are perfect for anyone looking to change up their space often or move their planters around according to the seasons.
In addition to this, they are very easy to maintain. Unlike their steel counterparts that rust easily, these polyethylene planters can be used indoors or outdoors across all four seasons with little to no winter preparation. The versatility of this material has allowed us to create some self-watering planters that come with a built-in water reservoir – helping us create beautiful products that are also functional.
