Our Window Box Planters are designed for simple installation and should only take about 15 minutes to mount.
Follow these simple steps for a hassle-free installation:
1. Your Mayne Window Box (including the window box brackets)
2. Some wood strapping (you can find this at your local hardware store)
3. A cordless drill and Phillips drill bit
4. Tape measure
5. Level
6. And stud finder.
Use your stud finder to mark exactly where you’ll be mounting your wood strapping. It’s important to secure the wood strapping to a stud so that your window box is properly fastened to the wall.
Side Note: If the wall you’re mounting the window box to is all brick or concrete, you can mount directly to the wall without the wood strapping. However, you’ll need to pick up some masonry screws or anchors for added stability.
Use your tape measure to mark where the wall mount brackets will attach to the wood strapping. Each bracket should be 12 inches apart, center to center.
Using your cordless drill, secure the brackets in place. Depending on the window box size, you will have to install 2-5 wall mount brackets to the wood strapping.
Then, simply slide your window planter box into place. Make sure the hooks of the brackets line up with the indentations in the back of your window box. Once in place, the bottom of the window box will be flush with the bottom of the brackets.
